Wernick’s approach to sustainability
At Wernick, our approach to sustainability and the environment starts at design stage. The modular design incorporates materials which are used in the sizes readily available from the suppliers thus reducing waste. The materials used in the buildings, mainly steel, aluminium and timber can all be recycled. They also have very cost effective whole life costs being of great benefit to our clients.
The buildings are produced in a controlled factory environment, in which all waste is segregated for recycling. Another sustainable advantage of factory production is that all the labour is sourced locally thus reducing the travel factor. By prefabricating the building the site programme is reduced which minimizes disruption to neighbours and wildlife.
Wernick Buildings modular units are generally used for permanent buildings but they can be re-sited if their use becomes redundant.
All these environmental and sustainable benefits are controlled under our quality assurance procedures that are accredited to the international standard ISO9001:2000.
