1980 - 1989

Wernick takes over the Secometric Group of Companies based at Wickford in Essex and Horwich in Lancashire. In 1981, due to the superior facilities at Wickford, work ceases at Billericay and all southern operations move to the Wickford site. In 1988, Wernick takes over Swiftplan Limited, part of the Taylor Woodrow Group, an acquisition which provides further manufacturing and hire facilities at Neath, South Wales.
