2000 - 2009

In 2000, Wernick Hire expands into Aberdeen with the purchase of Securastore, adding a further 260 units to the fleet. 1,000 more units come our way when we acquire the portable building division of JFM in 2003, and in 2005/2006 we take over five more businesses: Anglia Cabins, which brings a further 180 buildings to our depot in Stanton, Suffolk; PK Accommodation (adding 600 units and 2 depots to our network); CDC Instant Space in Cornwall (500 units and 2 depots); Accommodation Hire (5,400 units and 10 depots) and the cabin division of Selwood Plant (600 cabins and a new depot in Southampton).

In 2006 four business are acquired - Anglia Cabins with 180 buildings and the portable buildings division of Universal Site Services with180 buildings. These are followed by Scotia Kabins with its depot and 1,050 buildings in Inverness, and the cabin division of SGB Event Hire Ltd adding 200 cabins to the fleet of Wernick Event Hire.

Lewis Cabin Hire of Newcastle Under Lyme (650 cabins) and SMP (Grimshaw) Ltd of Cheltenham with is depot and 540 cabins were purchased in 2008.

In 2009 we acquired Rollalong Hire Ltd which increased our cabin fleet by a further 4,000 units. This acquisition boosted Wernick Event Hire to the second largest provider of specialty cabins for the UK event industry.

The Wernick Group is now one of the leading companies in the portable and modular building industry and enjoys the unique position of still being family owned and run.
