IOW Festival accommodated by Wernick

With 55,000 people out to enjoy the sun and the sounds of this year’s Isle of Wight Festival temporary accommodation for the organizers and top flight performers had to be of a high standard and delivered to the island on time.  With a line-up of 26 artists appearing over the jam-packed weekend (11-13 June); amongst them names such as Pink, Spandau Ballet, Blondie and Sir Paul McCartney, expectations were high for a busy weekend of top-class pop.

Ticket sales were up on 2009 so on-site facilities had to be increased proportionally.  Accommodation specialists Wernick Event Hire organized the delivery of 85 units across the Solent into Newport Harbour, then on to Seaclose Park for installation. Amongst the kit supplied were 44 cabins, 22 sleeper units, 5 ticket booths and 18 gas-powered shower units.  

“It couldn’t have gone better", commented Keith Morris the site manager, "Wernick provided us with a great service. The Isle of Wight Festival requires some fairly exacting logistics because of the ferries.  Wernick’s on-site staff provided us with a turnkey operation and their delivery drivers were well briefed.”
